Career Counselling Workshop

Mapusa II Super School complex organized a two-day career counselling talk/ workshop for the students of Std X for the member schools on 15th and 16th of September 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Convent High School, Mapusa and St. Anthony’s High School, Monte de Guirim respectively.

Mr (Rtd.) T. Anil Gangadharan , a retired flight engineer and Drone Instructor conducted the sessions. Mr. Gangadharan lead the session by making the students understand one’s own likes and dislikes to reflect on the possible career choices they would be interested in. Through the interactive power –point presentation Mr. Gangadharan informed the students the future of Careers in Technology and AI- driven world

The Mapusa II Super School Complex in collaboration with ‘the Outreach Cell’ of St Xavier’s College, Mapusa organized a ‘career Guidance Workshop’ for the students of std X of the complex schools and their parents on 22nd August 2022 and 24th August 2022 . On 22nd August 2022 the workshop was conducted for the students of St. Antony’s High school, Monte-de-Guirim, Holy Cross High School, Bastora, and Government High School, Namoshi, Guirim at Holy Cross High School, Bastora. Approximately 225 students and 90 parents attended the workshop.

On 24th August the same was conducted for the students of St Mary’s Convent High School, Mapusa, and S.F.X. High School, Mapusa at St. Mary’s Convent High School, Mapusa. Approximately 200 students and 10 students attended the workshop. The workshop commenced with a prayer conducted by the respective schools. The gathering was formally welcomed by Ms. Maria Auxilia, the Secretary of the the Mapusa II Super School Complex.

Rev. Fr Ramiro Luis briefed the students and parents of the programme of the day, He also appreciated the parents for their presence. Dr. Prema Rocha gave a comprehensive idea on the Career options in Arts, while Ms. Sandra Fernandes apprised the gathering on the various career options in the field of commerce, Mr. Stalin D’Sa spoke on the discipline of Science, and Mr. Worrel D’Souza in the field of Computers. Fr. Ramiro briefed the students on Mass Communication and Journalism. The Programme was followed by a talk presented by Dr. Oscar D’Mello. He sensitized the students and parents on the importance of choosing the right careers and building the right kind of attitude to achieve success. Dr. Oscar also pointed out the mistakes students make while choosing careers and stressed on doing away with misconceptions while making decisions. The students were made aware of the Internet Technology Revolution wherein the requirement of skills was of utmost importance in the future. He advised students to be passionate about their profession and invest in hard work to achieve success. The workshop ended at 12.30 pm with vote of thanks proposed by Ms. Maria Auxilia at Holy Cross High School Bastora and Ms. Shruti Naik at St. Mary’s Convent high School, Mapusa.
