It is with pride that our girls U-17 won the State Level Championship for the academic year 2025-26 which was organised by DSYA and held at ST. CRUZ SAG GROUND.. They had to leave for Delhi for the All India SUBROTO MUKERJEE CUP FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT organized by AIR INDIA and were accompanied by the PE teacher Mrs. VERA PIRES and Mr. NEIL S. D'SOUZA and for the first time in the history of Goa our girls team were qualified for the quarter final.

REPORT: GOLDEN JUBILEE YEAR FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT

As part of the Golden Jubilee Year Celebration of St. Xavier’s Higher Secondary school, Mapusa , a Football Tournament was organized for the Higher Secondary Schools under A.B.E., across Goa.

The Inaugural Function for the same was held on 18th Sept. 2024 on St. Xavier’s H.S.S. Football Ground, Mapusa. Mr. Colin Gasper Vaz, Ex. P.E. Teacher of St. Xavier’s H.S.S. and football player, was chief Guest for the same. The Principal Ms. Victoria De Souza, Vice Principals Rev. Fr. Agnelo Peter Fernandes and Mr. Brian Duarte and the P.T.A. members were present for the same.The Inaugural match was played between S.F.X. H.S.S. Siolim and Fr. Basilio Andrade H.S.S. Majorda.

In all, 12 teams participated in this Tournament. The league matches were played on 18th Sept., 23rd Sept. and 25th Sept. 2024 and the semifinals on 27th Sept. and 30th Sept. 2024.

The Final Match of the tournament was played on 11th October 2024 between S.F.X. H.S.S. Siolim and Rosary H.S.S. Navelim. S.F.X. H.S.S. Siolim emerged as the champions of the Tournament defeating Rosary Navelim with a score of 1 – 0 .

The Chief Guest for the Finals was Mr. Augustine De Mello, a professional footballer and an international futsal player. The Principal, Vice Principals, P.T.A. members, other guests, staff members and students witnessed a professional and enjoyable Football Match.
