As part of the Vanamohatsav 2026 celebrations, our school organized a Tree Plantation Programme on 1st August 2026 at 11:30 a.m. with the objective of promoting environmental awareness and instilling in students a sense of responsibility towards the conservation of nature.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome by Ms. Shraddha, a student of XI Commerce A, who graciously welcomed the dignitaries, members of the management, staff, students, and guests. This was followed by the introduction of the distinguished guests from the Forest Department. The Vice Principal, Rev. Fr. Agnelo Fernandes, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the vital role of environmental conservation and the collective responsibility of safeguarding and nurturing the natural environment.
Ms. Juvella Rebello introduced the Chief Guest, Mr. Siddharth Tendulkar, Range Forest Officer, while Ms. Vineeta Rego introduced the Guest of Honour, Mr. Santosh Naik, Forest Guard, both from the Forest Department. As a mark of appreciation for their valuable support and commitment to environmental conservation, the school presented mementoes to the esteemed guests.
In his keynote address, Mr. Siddharth Tendulkar highlighted the importance of afforestation, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable environmental practices. He encouraged the students to become responsible custodians of nature by actively participating in tree plantation drives and adopting eco-friendly habits in their daily lives.
The highlight of the programme was the plantation of 235 medicinal saplings within the school campus. The saplings were planted by Rev. Fr. Agnelo Fernandes, the Forest Department officials, PTA members, School Committee members, teachers, and students. This symbolic initiative reflected the institution's unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability and the creation of a greener and healthier campus.
The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks proposed by Ms. Ashwini Gawas, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Forest Department officials, the school management, the Vice Principal, PTA members, School Committee members, teachers, students, and all those whose wholehearted support and cooperation ensured the success of the event.
The Vanamohatsav 2026 celebration served as a meaningful reminder that environmental conservation is a shared responsibility. Through this initiative, the school reaffirmed its commitment to fostering ecological awareness and inspiring the younger generation to contribute actively towards building a greener, healthier, and more sustainable future.
