A Career Guidance Talk on Careers in Sports was conducted at St. Xavier’s Higher Secondary School, Mapusa on Saturday, the 16th of August, 2025, in the St. Joseph Vaz Auditorium at 11:30 a.m, for the students of 12th Arts. The session was led by Mrs. Melinda Pereira, a former Physical Education teacher of the Institution, who spoke on The Careers in Sports. She was warmly welcomed by the student host, Vanya, and was later presented with a token of appreciation by Sheryann. During her presentation, Mrs. Melinda highlighted 22 career opportunities in the field of sports, such as Sports Journalism, Sports Nutrition, Athlete Management and Representation, Sports Law, E-Sports, Sports Analytics and many more. She also elaborated on the procedures to attain the certification for these careers and the different avenues through which students could pursue them, in India and abroad.
The session was very insightful and engaging, as Mrs. Pereira ensured that it was interactive throughout. She asked the students questions, encouraged them to raise their own queries, and even conducted a short game to keep the atmosphere lively. The Programme was a successful and beneficial one and concluded with the vote of thanks.
