The staff enrichment workshop was held on the 16th and 17th of June, 2026. The workshop was organized for the staff of 5 higher secondary schools, namely St.Xavier’s, Mapusa, Our Lady of Lourdes, Valpoi, Sta. Cruz HSS, Sta. Cruz and Infant Jesus, Colva.
The Programme began with the formal opening. Dr. Vijayan Karippal, COO and Registrar, WPU university, Goa, was the chief guest and Rev. Fr. Henry Falcao, Director, St. Joseph Vaz spiritual renewal centre, was the guest of honour. This was followed by the first session by Dr. Vijayan –“Firm, Fun and Fair styles of Teaching”, wherein he brought out the importance of being humane towards each child by providing the necessary attention and correction in a positive manner and not in a way that would affect them negatively for life. Session 2 was conducted by Mr. Pawan Dwivedi, Dy. Registrar, Parul University, Gujarat on the Topic “From Instruction to Inspiration. Pedagogy, Heutagogy and AI for Transformative Education.”Mr. Dwivedi approached modern day problems with easy solutions and humorous day to day examples. He emphasized on heutagogy as a present day approach to learning as it focuses more on learner centric approach rather than teacher centric, making it more effective in today’s education. The day ended with a reflection session by Fr. Henry Falcao, who guided us to deal with our students with immense grace from God. And, to allow AI to make us more human and not less human.
The second day began with the Holy mass and was followed by a fitness programme conducted by our own Physical Education Teacher, Mr. Neil D’Souza.
The Second day sessions were conducted by Ms. Linestha Chavan on the Vedanta way of living. She guided us on staying calm in the midst of chaos in the classroom. How we need to be the unwavering support to our students as they are facing much turmoil nowadays with an ever changing world with high expectations and competition.
The closing ceremony ended with Ms. Linestha Chavan, being the chief guest and the Guest of honour was Fr. Aaron Magalhas. Certificates were handed over to representatives of each Higher Secondary School and all staff departed after a delicious meal.
