St Xavier's Higher Secondary School, Mapusa, has been ranked 8th in India and first in Goa in the category of India's Best Government - Aided Schools as per the Cfore School Rankings 2025. The award ceremony was held at Taj Vivanta, Dwarka, New Delhi. The award was received by the Principal, Victoria de Souza along with the Vice Principal, two teacher representatives, PTA Chairman and Past Pupils Association President. Cfore, India's first school ranking survey introduced in 2001, seeks to identify 'What truly makes a school great!
The HSS was evaluated on 12 parameters, including teacher
competence and relationship, leadership & governance, pedagogy, teacher care, academic rigour, personalized education, co-curricular activities, sports, life skills, alumni engagement, infrastructure, and parental participation. Out of a total of 1300, St Xavier's HSS scored 975 points, with the highest school scoring 1011. While the HSS scored modestly on Infrastructure, their high rating in leadership and governance was noteworthy. This recognition is a proud moment for all Xaverites spread across the globe and the Diocesan Society of Education under the leadership of His Eminence Filipe Neri Cardinal Ferrão.
