Session on Financial Literacy

A session on Financial Literacy was conducted for the students of Std XI Commerce on 15th July 2026 in the St. Joseph Vaz Auditorium at 12:00 noon. The Resource Person was Mr. Sarvesh Karapurkar. He was introduced by Ms. Richelle Fernandes and was welcomed with a potted plant by Ms. Soubhagyalaxmi.

The objective of the session was to create awareness about the importance of financial planning and to equip participants with the knowledge required to make informed financial decisions.

Mr. Karapurkar explained the fundamentals of personal finance in a simple and engaging manner. He emphasized the importance of budgeting, disciplined saving, wise spending, and investing for long-term financial security. He also highlighted the need to distinguish between needs and wants and encouraged participants to develop healthy financial habits from an early age.

The resource person also discussed various investment options, the significance of insurance, emergency funds, and the power of compounding. He also cautioned the audience against financial frauds and stressed the importance of making informed and responsible financial choices.

The session was very informative and highly interactive, with participants actively engaging in discussions and asking questions. Mr. Karapurkar addressed their queries with practical examples, making the concepts easy to understand and relatable.

The session proved to be enriching and inspiring. It concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Namrata Sanadi.
