Report of Farewell Function

The Farewell programme for Class 12 batch (2025-2026) of St. Xavier's Higher Secondary School, Mapusa was organised on 3rd January 2026 in the Ark Hall. The programme commenced with a solemn Mass at 9 a.m., bringing the community together in prayer to seek blessings for the XII Standard for all their future endeavors. The theme for the farewell function and eucharist celebration was "Anchored in Gratitude, Sailing in Hope". The main celebrant for the mass was Rev. Fr. Lester D'Souza, parish priest of St. John of the Cross Church, Sanquelim who touched the hearts of the congregation with his energetic and meaningful homily.
Following the service, the students of Standard XI put up a cultural programme. Juniors entertained the audience with energetic dance medleys, and melodious farewell songs.
The General Secretary, Mr. Jaden Madeira, addressed the gathering with a heartfelt speech, expressing sincere gratitude to the Management, staff, and his fellow students.
The Vice Principal, Rev. Fr. Agnelo Fernandes, also shared words of wisdom. He urged the XII Standard students to carry the "Xavierite" spirit with them, emphasizing that if they believe in themselves, dream big, and commit to hard work, success will inevitably follow.
As the event drew to a close, Ms. Lorraine Da Costa proposed the Vote of Thanks, acknowledging everyone who contributed to the success of the day.
 The programme culminated in the traditional candle ceremony, a symbolic gesture of spreading light and knowledge to the world, followed by the singing of the School Anthem.
