ATL Workshop ‘Make a Small USB Fan using DC Motor’

The workshop was held on 12th July 2025, with the objective of designing and building a functional small USB fan using a DC motor. This promoted hands-on learning and understanding of basic electronics and mechanics. 100 students and 4 ATL teachers attended the workshop.

ATL teacher Ms. Ujwala Kerkar, explained the students about the working of the motor. Students were supplied with the required materials and they were ask to make their own set up to run the fan. Some of the students designed the circuit using breadboard, some did using snap circuit kit whereas some tried direct connections

Participants learned about DC motors, their working principles, and applications. They were provided step-by-step guidance on assembling the USB fan, including circuit connections and mechanical assembly. Students successfully built and tested their fans, demonstrating understanding of the concepts.

The activity enhanced students' understanding of electronics, problem-solving skills, and creativity. Participants expressed enthusiasm and satisfaction with the hands-on experience.
