Skill Based Workshops for Super School Complex

The Mapusa II Super School Complex conducted a series of skill-based workshops for students of Std. VIII of member schools. The programme saw enthusiastic participation from St. Mary’s Convent High School, Mapusa, SFX High School, Mapusa, St Anthony's high school, Monte de Guirim High School, and from St. Xavier’s Higher Secondary.

The workshops, held from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., aimed at promoting creativity and hands-on learning. Four engaging skills were introduced to the students:

Palm Leaf Weaving was conducted by Ms. Sabina Da Cunha.

French Cooking was conducted by Ms. Elaine Da Costa.

Pottery was conducted by Ms. Saakshi Naik and Mr. Vithu Naik.

Tile Painting was conducted by Shankar Turi at Turi Azulejos, Bicholim, Goa.

A total of 107 students participated across the activities, with 33 opting for tile painting, 38 for pottery, 18 for palm leaf weaving, and 18 for French cooking.

The sessions provided a platform for students to explore traditional and modern skills beyond the classroom, instilling both creativity and appreciation for craftsmanship. The programme was well-received and ended on a note of enthusiasm and learning.
