The session on the basics of piezoelectricity was conducted on July 29th. The session covered fundamental concepts, principles, and applications of piezoelectricity. Participants gained insights into how piezoelectric materials generate electric charges in response to mechanical stress.
Total 98 students and 4 ATL teachers attended the session. ATL teacher Smita Naik explained the students about basics of Piezoelectricity
Session started with discussion on different forms of energy, availability of energy, etc. Then the piezoelectricity was defined along with Piezoelectric materials and their properties
Also their applications in sensors, actuators, and energy harvesting and potential uses in various industries was discussed.
Concept of piezoelectricity was understood better by students with hands on session. Here students tried lighting the LED using Piezoelectric plate.
The session aimed to spark interest and understanding of piezoelectricity among participants, fostering further exploration and innovation in this field.
