Trip to Christian Art Museum

On 27th September 2023, on the occasion of World Tourism Day, the students of XI Vocational, Tourism and Travel Techniques visited the Christian Art Museum located in Old Goa. The students were divided into two groups, guided by the museum educators Ms. Natasha and Ms. Gunjan who introduced them to the museum space and the collection it contains.
The museum housed various rare artefacts, paintings, textiles, sculptures, precious metals etc. The students were able to interpret the art objects depicting Indian influence in Christian art as well as an overview of Goa’s flora, fauna, festivals, heritage and culture. This was followed by an interactive session at the St. Monica convent.
After the museum visit the students proceeded to visit the Churches and Convents at Old Goa declared as the World Heritage site identified by UNESCO. They visited: Church of Our Lady of Rosary, Church of Our Lady of Grace, Chapel of St Catherine, Viceroy’s Arch, Church of St Cajetan and Se Cathedral guided by Dr. Alvita D’Souza and accompanied by Mr. Skandle Fernandes.
