The Vocational Department of St. Xavier’s Higher Secondary School, Mapusa Goa organised a one-day workshop titled “Skill Up Your Life” for the students of Std. XII on 12th July 2025 to encourage practical learning and enhance the vocational skills of students. The workshop was aimed at equipping students with creative life skills beyond the textbook, allowing them to explore various vocations hands-on.
The day featured six dynamic sessions conducted by experienced professionals, each specializing in a unique field. Ms. Ablin Fernandes led an aromatic and calming session on Candle Making, while Mr. Aaron Monteiro introduced students to the basics of Digital Media Production. Food lovers enjoyed the Spaghetti & Snack Making session by Mr. Melburn Botelho, and creativity flowed freely in the Fabric Painting workshop guided by Ms. Nidhi Falari. For students interested in grooming and personal care, Ms. Rakshanda Bhandari conducted an engaging Make-up & Hairstyle session.
Each workshop saw enthusiastic participation, with 32 students attending Candle Making, 25 for Digital Media Production, 23 for Spaghetti and Snack Making, 13 for Fabric Painting, and 14 for Make-up & Hairstyle. The sessions were highly interactive, offering students not only practical exposure but also an opportunity to discover and develop their interests. A total of 106 students actively participated in the workshop. The initiative was a great success, sparking enthusiasm and curiosity among the learners while providing them with useful vocational insights. The school is grateful to to the guest instructors and the Vocational Department team for organizing and making the event both memorable and impactful.
